The CFTC is the American regulatory commission that oversees commodity markets and derivatives based on commodities. The CFTC is the regulator of choice for the crypto industry because their budget total $394.0 million compared to the SEC's $2.14 billion, thus the CFTC is less capable of enforcement actions and would be softer-touch resulting in a less regulated market with less government oversight.
